Kreb Cycle Eastport Flat Clinic
Part 1
Tuesday February 25th at 5:30pm and Part 2 on Tuesday March 4th at 5:30pm.
This will be a detailed clinic for those who are looking to be able to fix a flat tire on their bicycle on their own.
The Feb 25th session will include discussions about:
· Tires-Tubes-Tubeless Fluid and Rim Tape
o Construction of tires and the benefits of winter tires
o Why you might want to consider something other than a butyl tube
· Tools needed in your saddle bag or pouch to remove your wheel from the bicycle and to remove your tire from your rim
· Techniques to remove your rim from your bicycle and then your tire/tube from your rim
o Thru axle or QR wheel removal
o Rear wheel removal and chain placement
o One by drivetrains and clutch derailleurs
o Brake considerations…. Rim and disc
· Tube repair and tire repair once removed from the rim
· Various rim types and how they affect tire removal
This clinic will be discussion based.
We will not change any flats but will discuss some very important details that will help you become a more confident flat changer.
This clinic is a prerequisite for the March 4th clinic.
There is no limit to attendance for the February 25th clinic.
We will raffle off a pair of Continental Gatorskin tires.
We will also have pizza and some other snacks and some drink.
