This ride is a special ride. It is memorial for those who have died while riding their bicycles. The idea of this ride is to raise the consciousness of the non-cycling public. Black armbands will be provided.
There will be only one slow pace maintained by all riders. All traffic laws will be obeyed. Here is a link to the offical site: http://www.rideofsilence.org/main.php. Note that we don't start at the offical time of 7 PM due to darkness related safety concerns. Regardless, it is suggested to have front and rear lights on your bike for this ride and to wear light colored/reflecting clothing as it will be close to dark when we finish. The ride will go to Patchogue and back with the majority of the ride on Montauk Hwy. A ride of silence starting further east in Bellport is also posted.
