Rocky Point Cycle is participating in a collection drive for used bikes (and cash donations) that is being sponsored by Pedals For Progress and Returned Long Island Peace Corps Volunteers. The goal is to collect bikes (and cash donations to cover transportation costs) that will be shipped overseas to third-world countries and given to individuals who will use them for primary transportation.

Any bikes are accepted, working or not, with the non-functioning bikes to be used for parts. The folks receiving the bikes would also be trained in basic maintenance so that they can repair their bikes once the Pedals for Progress program has moved on.
