NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

We will do our normal Reverse 51 but start out with a trip around Route 25A, rest stop at Wildwood Lake. Download or review the route below. Hope to see you there!
It will be a SLOW ride for me to conserve strength .. the B+ indicates the effort not the pace ... lots of hills and fun technical stuff (no moguls though ;-( ). Not sure I'll manage to do GroundHog hill at the end.
If you plan to ride with me PLEASE contact me @ 631-988-6557 that way I'll also know to wait for you if you're running late on arrival.
Today's Mi Tierrita ride will be going to the Beach. The route is mostly flat with a small incline here and there. The average pace for the ride will be between 14 to 15.0 mph, depending on the roads and wind direction. The road speed will be between 16.0 and 17.0 mph. The usual break-a-ways will happen for those who desire. We'll stop along the way for a bathroom break around mile 10. Don’t forget to bring a snack. Do you know what AGUAPANELA is? Come and find out. Pulls are appreciated.
A nice even-paced cruise to Westhampton Beach, where we'll have a stop at the Beach Bakery at around 16 miles. The route uses a lot of sheltered roads and zig-zags across the wind, so hopefully we can avoid th wind!
We'll do some easy paceline work on this ride, but no picking-up the pace when you are on the front.
Ourtbound, we'll head through Eastport and Remsenberg. On the return, we hit some rolling terrain, going around Eastport leading us back to Manorville.
We will be riding on mostly secondary roads in Calverton and Manorville. Food/restroom stop at around mile 17. To join the ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your full name. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 08:00am.
This ride to the Smithtown’s beaches starts and ends on flat roads. The middle section is scenic and we will slow or wait on hills as needed. No need to worry if you're just starting on hills, we will be patient.
Park in the rear of the lot across from Little Vincent's and join us for a slice after the ride (cash only).
St James General store, pre Weekend Hill ride. 20 miles 800 ft of elevation. Nobody gets dropped work the hills as you wish with wait ups at top of River Rd. This is short but effective in training. 4pm start should take about 1 1/2 hours in total.
This is an oldie but goodie ride and probably one of my favorites because it's always different in one way or another. We'll head to Hecksher first for a brief restroom stop, there won't be a food stop so please pack a snack and drinks for when we get to Islip Beach. Although we should have plenty of time to get back before sunset, lights and reflective clothing are highly recommended.
I was tempted to post this as a C+/B- but since the last couple of rides I've posted were finished up at a comfortable pace and were totally enjoyable; I decided to post this as a C+. There will be an opportunity to break away from the group; once in Hecksher, and then on Bay Avenue heading towards the beach.
I will post changes or cancel (if necessary) by 2:00 pm the day of the ride.
I'm asking anyone that is planning on joining the ride to please text me, (631-521-0688). I've run into circumstances (i.e. location change due to no available parking), and silly stuff that makes communication between us easier and I can be confident that all riders are notified of the changes in time. No need to send me your information since everyone will be signing in upon your arrival to the ride.
Feel free to text/call with any questions you may have regarding the ride.
