NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

Note: Venue may change if Ride Start at Overton is too wet or muddy!!! Decision at 9 AM
Note: the 'B' pace indicated is not the speed we'll be riding in the woods but indicates the technical skill level of this Mtn Bike ride.
You only hear the wind in the woods ... I plan to do BDs Rt112 loop, 2, 4 & 6 BUT I will adjust the ride for the slowest/less technical rider ... otherwise the other BDs and DBDs are in play. I may skip a diamond and do a waitup if stronger riders show.
If you plan to do my ride and contact me by texting to 631-988-6557. If you don't contact me and the rest of us are ready to roll I may leave a few minutes earlier than the posted time.
DRIVE CAREFULLY! If you're running late text me and I will wait a few extra minutes.
Check back to this posting regardless ... Life Happens and Things Change!
Briermere is open for the season, so let's hope the weather gives us a decent temperature to ride. But, just in case, we'll ride a shorter route to Briermere and we'll make the stop quick so we don't get cold! So, first chance this season to get a coffee, some pie or a scone from Briermere !
We'll make this ride simple: outbound we'll hit Line Road and Deep Hole and then we'll head out through the farm fields. The return will take us back through the fields, so be ready to paceline into the winds!
After a Great first Run at it. The Firehouse 44 returns for another week. Let's keep the turn out solid. This will now be an A- pace since it's a fast Route. We will stop at mile 27 Gas Station for brief Snack and bathroom Break. You will be able to breakaway down on Burman BLVD wait up at end of Burman for ReGroup. Last week we finished at 20MPH.
Today's’ route to Great River will change up a bit towards the end of the ride - if the wind is in our favor; making this route pretty flat except for 2 overpasses. We will go the usual route heading south using the Connetquot Park bike bath. We’ll work our way down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. Pulling is appreciated! I would like to keep the road speed between 15 & 16mph and come in at an average between 14 and 15mph.
For this Flat ride the Average speed is 11.5-12.5mph depending on riders, wind, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition with a distance of 18-23 miles. Nobody gets left behind and newbies always welcome and well taken care of. Any cancellation will be before 8:30am. No need to text me.
Park in south side lot across from RR station.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
Join me for this morning ride from SAYVILLE to ?? This will be an easy C ride to loosen up the legs, and will average 11.0 - 11.5.
The exact route will be determined at the start. Wherever we go there will be a bathroom stop & a food break. Since nothing is certain until we start, there will not be a cue sheet for this ride.
We may go for a slice of pizza after the ride (personal expense).
Please text me with your name, SBRA Member Number, and Emergency Contact phone number if you plan to ride.
Come ride with us to the Bean&Bagel at a easy pace of 10-12 mph. If there are any questions please call 631 478-9072. Check back morning of for any changes by 8:30.
