NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Let's take a spin out to Hampton Bays. We'll leave from the parking lot across from The Maples for a fun paceline ride. We'll keep everyone together, so no one is left riding alone.
NOTE: The Ride Start will be 9:30 AM to let things warm-up.
On the way out, we'll do a long run down Route 24 - perfect for some controlled long pulls. After a refueling stop at the halfway point, we'll head back along rolling roads through Quogue and Speonk that give us some shelter from the wind. Then it's through Eastport and back to Manorville.
For this FLAT (maybe 1 or 2 small hills) 18-23 mile ride the Average speed is 11.5-12.5mph depending on riders, wind, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition. Nobody gets left behind and newbies always welcome and well taken care of. Any cancellation will be before 9:00am. No need to text me.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
Bean and Bagel has indoor and outdoor eating areas, and indoor rest rooms. The Grumman trail is closed for hunting, so we will be using mostly local streets in Calverton and Manorville. To join this ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your full name and date of ride. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 08:30am.
The SBRA January General Meeting will be held as a "VIRTUAL" meeting, on Thursday, January 5th at 7:00 pm. We will be using Zoom as the conferencing software. You can download the free application and be able to join this virtual club meeting.

Guest Speaker: Ben Serotta, founder of the Serotta Bicycle Manufacturing Company will be our guest speaker this month. Ben will talk about the latest innovations at his company as well as how they work with potential customers. Here's an excerpt from his website ... Our approach is pretty simple, it's all about you. There is no one else just like you. Unlike most every other bicycle company, we won't attempt to sell you a bicycle that was designed for nobody in particular. Instead, we are very particular about making bicycles that are perfectly suited for the one cyclist we both have in mind. You.
Each new Serotta begins life as a conversation. We'll communicate one on one with you, ask questions, listen a lot, explain your options and ultimately build your perfect bicycle, the one we know you'll fall in love with. The whole process is simple and fun for you, a bit more complicated and serious (but still fun) for us.
