NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

No SBRA Montauk Century this year so we'll set out for Orient instead. I hope to get as many members as possible out on their bikes for a great fall day. Not much training time, that said we'll temper our expectations and enjoy the ride.
RIDE LEADERS: ARE ENCOURAGED TO POST COMPANION RIDES AND SUBMIT RIDE SHEETS. FEEL FREE TO MODIFY THE ROUTE OR DISTANCE TO ACCOMIDATE YOUR GROUP (TRY THE SBRA RWGPS LIBRARY FOR A METRIC ie. Calverton Metric)
RIDE MEMBERS: MAKE SURE TO SIGN IN WITH A RIDE LEADER; I WILL BE RIDING AN A- PACE.
We will be traveling in small groups of like abilities so everyone has a comfortable pace to complete this fall century. There are 4 suggested stops as follows: (38.2M) Greenport Deli, i, (66.1M) Peconic Overlook, (73.1M) Cutchogue Deli (no restrooms), (82.8M) Main Road Bisquit. You and your group will decide your stops. This is an unsupported ride as most of our rides are, so bring everything you need. Remember to bring a mask and obey CoVid protocol in effect at ride time.
I feel really bad canceling especially if someone has been planning on the ride It wasn't easy for me to do so.
This is the B+/A- version. The goal is to maintain a 19-20mph pace, an effort equivalent to 20 mph on flat terrain and no wind. Please help to keep the group together by riding smoothly. It should be a fun ride if we all keep an eye out for each other. I hope you can join us!

This ride will start at the same time as the century but will be shorter. We'll stop at the Cutchogue Deli (mile 32) for sure and Main Rd Biscuit (mile 43) (only if needed) on the way back.
The pace will be 17-20 mph outside of winds and hills.
Come join me for a metric century ride from the Mattituck Railroad Station to Montauk. It is a B- ride, averaging 14-15 MPH. The cruising speeds will be 15-17 to get the average.
I will wait-up whenever someone falls behind. No one will be dropped. If you want to join me please text me on my cell, 631-655-7801. I will let you know if you are in, or the ride is full. Please provide your name, SBRA, cell, and emergency numbers. Any changes to the ride will be posted by 6:30. The ride will be limited to 12 riders unless there is another ride leader joining me who wishes to split the ride. Once accepted onto the ride if you need to cancel for any reason please text me as early as possible.
How about a metric century (100 KM / a bit over 62 miles)? We'll launch from the South Street School, heading out through Riverhead onto the North Fork, riding along the Peconic. We'll eventually reach New Suffolk / Cutchogue, where we'll have a food stop. Then it's back on Main Road to Riverhead and Deep Hole, leading to a finishing run via Edwards Avenue and Grumman Avenue.
The plan is to keep an even pace in the paceline, so we can keep everyone together. We'll save our energy for the return loop, as there always seems to be a wind blowing from the west on the North Fork! Remember that there is more to a ride than the average speed!
This is the B- Brewery Ride that will have an average speed of 15 mph, road speeds will reach 16 to 19 mph. We will be leaving the brewery heading to the Patchogue area and then to Smiths Point.
Changes or cancelation will be posted by 7:00am day of ride.
Due to limited parking at the Brewery please text/RSVP your name, ID # to Mike at 516 448-8545. We are limited to 20 parking spots in the Brewery lot located behind the building.
Join me for this C+ ride, which will average 12.4 - 12.9; no one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Ride route will be determined by the road conditions; decision to be made the morning of the ride; no cue sheets. We will head to Blue Point, loop around Corey Beach, and stop at the Atlantic Ave. Deli for our break, and there will be a bathroom stop.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
NOTE #1: You must be a club member to go on club rides.
NOTE #2: I am limiting the number of riders on my rides, so you MUST text me with your name & SBRA Member Number if you want to ride. I will return the text: YES, you have a spot…or…NO, Ride Filled...CELL #: 631-523-2129
We will be doing a multilevel ride from the Bellport Brewery to Calverton. Check calendar for other level rides from here. The pace will be decided by the participants. We start together we finish together. Nobody gets left behind. This beats doing the century. Please RSVP so I know how many are coming.
Due To Logistical Problems I Have Changed The Entire Ride.
Going to Manorville today. A rest/ food stop at McDonald’s or the bagel shop is on the schedule around mile 20. There are a few places along the route for a break-a-way for those who wish to do so. The ride could end up a mile or two longer depending on the route. Pulling is always appreciated for those who want, but not required.
The average pace for the ride will be between 14.9 to 15.0 mph +/- depending on the roads, wind direction, rider ability, tailwinds, downhills, break-a-ways and other conditions. All of these conditions could change the final average one way or the other. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17 mph.) to produce the average.
Any cancellation due to weather or any other circumstance will be posted no later than 0715 if necessary. If you have question about the ride just text me at 631.484.3490. Eventually my phone and I will meet in a reasonable amount of time...
Changed the ride to Bean & Bagel we will start from the Maples Bar in Manorville to Bean & Bagel which has great Bagels and a bathroom no one left behind questions call or text cell 631-484-1650
