Meeting Details: Topic: SBRA January General Meeting (Virtual) Date/Time: January 2, 2025at 07:00 PM
It's January in a new year so that can only mean it's time to hit the beaches! We can drop the speed a bit on this ride if needed as we burn off that holiday malise (and calories). This ride begins and ends flat with about half some fun and scenic hills. With the leaves off the trees we get better views of the water and the mini mansions in "the new Hamptons. We'll be patient on the hills if your resolution is to get stronger and do some hills. Bring snacks for a quick break by the water.
Park in the rear of the lot across from Little Vincents and enjoy a slice to start the new year after the ride (cash only)
We'll leave the parking lot at the Veteran's Memorial Park and we'll head to the industrial park in the old Grumman property for some fun.
At the industrial park we'll ride in a paceline around the 1 mile Thunderdrome course; where each lap has a small rise to keep it interesting. This time we'll add a lap to get our mileage up to 25, and we'll try to do this nearly non-stop to keep warm! Also, riding the loop keeps us close to the start, in case anyone gets too cold to continue.
The Thunderdrome is the infamous one mile Thunderbird training loop in the industrial park that includes a little hill, an S-turn and some old concrete runway. It's the perfect loop for a criterium or a training ride...
This is a ride to see the Jones Beach Light Show. Leaving from Credar Creek Parking Lot #1. Have my phone number with you if we do not see each other at the start. This ride will be around cars viewing the show, we will be around slow moving cars distracted by the scenery. LIGHTS A MUST. We can get a meal afterwards if you chose to stay-possibly The Dirty Taco 3216 Merrick Rd., Wantagh. Address for Cedar Creek Park is 3340 Merrick Road, Seaford. Phone for me 631-235-9467. About 15 miles, not a fitness ride.
First time this season at Glacier ... I'm definitely not doing all the diamonds but will adjust for who shows and I'll probably wait on the main while others do some BDs & DBDs.
Please let me know if you plan to be at the start (I'll wait if necessary) OTHERWISE we may leave the Ride Start when we're ready to roll!
If you contact me (631-988-6557) that you plan to join me then I'll contact you directly if there's any changes AND you'll only have to add your signature to the Ride Sign In sheet at the start.
Always check back to my postings before leaving for the ride ... Life Happens and Things Change!
JoeB 4S: Susan's Slower, Short & Sweet ride to Panera Bread in Rioverhead. If it's in the 30's and windy I'll be seaching out another Ride Leader and heading for the woods myself.
A shorter version of the original JoeB ride riding to Panera bread where we will meet up with Ronnie's group. It will be at the mid to upper end of the C+/B- range. Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/43704029
If you contact me (631-988-6557) that you plan to join me then I'll contact you directly if there's any changes AND you'll only have to add your signature to the Ride Sign In sheet at the start.
