If you all do well, we can move as fast as you wish on the more open roads!
Brief stop at Iron Pier Beach Park.

Ride speed and distance will depend on the wind. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which will be posted by 07:45am.
If I don't hear from anyone, I will leave from home -- so please be sure to text that you're coming, with your SBRA number and emergency phone number. My cell: 631-835-1454.
This ride is 32 miles of pretty flat, going to Coram, plus 4 miles of hills: going UP Ashton, a toughie (wait-ups, no problem) followed by the rollers on West Bartlett and a break at the Springlake Golf Course.
This is my first ride over 30 this season , so I’ll cruise at a low C+ of 13 or so.
We will meet at my Camper At cathedral pines. Upper field by Horseshoe pits. Ride out to Main Street and head out towards Manorville ride can be anywhere from 25-35 mile's depending on How everyone riding. Bring a beverage and have a toast after ride by Campfire.
Ride starts at Ronkonkoma RR South Lot A1 and goes to Sayville and Oakdale. This is a C+/B- ride, cruising at 14 to 15 mph to get an average of 13 to 14 mph. Any changes will be posted at least 90 minutes before the ride.
Food: None

Let's continue our distance training for the Thunderbird Orient Century, by riding another metric!
Normally I'd post this for a weekend, but the weather for Saturday isn't looking good and Sunday morning starts with rain.
SO, to preserve my metal health https://youtu.be/9_EzMO27MS0, after studying all the forecasts I've finally decided to post this for Friday at 8:30 AM ...
(Good rhythm for pedaling your bike, or banging your head, eh?)
The details...
1.The pace will be in the middle of the B/B+ range or so, depending on the winds.
2. The course will have us riding a paceline out along Peconic Bay and onto the North Fork through Mattituck where we'll have a quick rest stop. Then it's out to Cutchogue, where we will have a food stop at around 30 miles. Afterwards, we'll ride a little farther east and head north on Bridge Lane up to the farms and Oregon Road. We'lll then start our return back along Peconic Bay, through Riverhead and back to the start.
Ride is cancelled and not rescheduled. Off to scenic Shinnecock Inlet. Rest stops coming and going in Westhampton Beach at miles 10 and 30, and at the Quogue Preserve at around mile 27. Bring snacks and drinks for our stop at the Inlet. Porta-Potties might be out at the Inlet and other spots on Dune Road. There is a bakery and a 7-11 very close to our last Westhampton Beach stop. To join this ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your full name and date of ride. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 07:45am. Ride distance and speed will depend on the wind.
SORRY radar looks bad. We will do it another time.
Park in the overflow lot to the south of the RR station. I plan to head to Oakdale for a little then back thru Sayville with our stop at the Bayport Library more towards the end.

Good luck to all the riders headed to PA this weekend.
Today's’ route to Great River will change up a bit towards the end of the ride - if the wind is in our favor; making this route pretty flat except for 2 overpasses. We will go the usual route heading south using the Connetquot Park bike bath. We’ll work our way down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. Pulling is appreciated! I would like to keep the road speed between 17 & 19 mph and come in at an average between 15 and 16. Cyclists coming with "E" bikes must stay at the end of the bike line.
Check back and make sure this ride i still on. Brian has the same ride on Saturday but it's supposed to rain. If he cancels I will lead the same ride on Sunday.
I have just returned from travel and have not ridden since last summer. Therefore, this is going to be a slower ride than usual. We will follow the same route as Howard except it will be shorter, and slower. We are going to take a break at the bagel shop about half way through the ride. I hope to come in with an average between 13 and 14 mph. In order to get this the road speed will be between 14 and 16 mph. Things could change slightly due to the road conditions and the wind.
Help in pulling the ride would be appreciated, but not required. Folks coming with "E" bikes must stay at the end of the bike line.
If you have any questions or concerns please text me at 631.484.3490.
Meet at Mattituck for a scenic ride out on the North Fork. Weather iffy for Saturday so it might be moved to Sunday. Watch this space!
There are no bathrooms at the start but we will stop at Vets beach (1 1/2 miles) to use the facilities.
I have added Nassau point but anyone that wants to avoid those hills can wait at the beach! It will save them 3 miles and 200' of climbing (rolling)
We will stop at a deli in Southold before going to the lighthouse and back along the north shore.
Please let me know you are coming (last time I had to ride it on my own!) Text 631 331 5642. If no-one has texted by Friday evening (or Saturday eve if rained out), I will cancel.
Ride starts at Sayville RR station and goes to Bellport Dock. This is a C+/B- ride, cruising at 14 to 16 mph to get an average of 13 to 14 mph. Any changes will be posted at least 90 minutes before the ride.
A combination of Mel's Monday Ride and Brian's Tuesday ride. We will do Brian's route on Monday. 31 non stop miles where the group ride's together.Hope to see you there.
Join me for this C ride, which will average 11.0 - 11.5; no one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Ride route will be determined by the road conditions; decision to be made the morning of the ride; no cue sheets. We will head to Blue Point and loop around Corey Beach, and our break will be at the Atlantic Ave. Deli; there will be a bathroom stop.
Please text me with your name, SBRA Member Number, and Emergency Contact phone number if you plan to ride.
