Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Global Fat Bike Day has taken place on the first Saturday of December annually since 2012 — this year it falls on December 4. It's a special day for fat bike enthusiasts who celebrate it the best way they know how — riding on their fat bikes!
members with skinny tires (mountain bikes) are invited to join the celebration.
pace will be steady and safe....faster riders are encouraged to ride ahead
We'll hit some rolling terrain riding up and down like a seesaw on this ride. The eventual destination is Area 51 and that pesky hill. But, the fun doesn't end there, as we'll do the long course to the end of the Alien Highway! Then it's to the Harts wind tunnel, just like the old days.
No stops on this ride, just a couple of wait-ups to get everyone back together. So, once you warmup, you'll stay warm.
Sorry about the late cancellation ... waiting for service ...
Probably won't do everything but most of the diamonds with a little mix in sequence. I plan to initially skip CR 83 South & CR 83 North and to do them at the end. I will be doing the Ridges first and No Trespassing, DOM (and extension) and White Ghost BDs.
Please text me at 631-988-6557 or email me at [nsamuels@optonline.net] if you plan on riding with me.
As usual ... Check back to this posting before leaving for the ride as Life Happens and Things Change.

To join the ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your SBRA# and your full name. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which will be posted by 07:30am.
For this Flat ride the Average speed is 12-13mph depending on riders, wind, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition with a distance of 20-27 miles. Nobody gets left behind and newbies always welcome and well taken care of. Any cancellation will be before 8:30am. No need to text me.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
