Cancellation fun ... check the Photo Gallery later ...
This could end up being the SLUSH BOWL ride ... but to cover all cases I'll have my X-Cty skis in the car and we can head to Brookhaven State Park for a non-SBRA ski fest. Depending how much snow is on the ground the BDs and roots will be B/B+ material but the flat turns will be do-able... the Scuttle Hole climb is a real challenge when the snow is there.
NOTE: Due to COVID we WON'T be enjoying soup or anything at a diner/deli afterwards BUT I might have a tasty treat to reward your gusto.
If nothing else, PLEASE contact me to let me know you plan to be at the ride start. No contacts and I may cancel at last moment.
SBRA insurance requires that Mtn Bike riders MUST sign a Ride Sign In sheet for each Mtn Bike ride. Please text [631-988-6557]/email me at [nsamuels@ optonline.net] include your name and emergency and cell # (NOT necessary if you've recently ridden with me). I will have the Ride Sign in sheet for you to just sign.
You must have a mask on your person to ride though it's typical to be more than 15 feet a part in the woods.
Check back to this posting before leaving for the ride as Life Happens and Things Change.

Note: The Discord channel will be active 20-30 minutes prior to the ride start. This way you can test to make sure you are connected. When you get to the Discord page, you will see a menu on the left labeled "VOICE CHANNELS." Under this menu list click on "General" and you should see yourself listed there. I will be using Zwift with a smart trainer. Zwift has a feature called Meetup(link is external) for group rides.
. This can be done using the Zwift Companion app (not the regular Zwift app). You will need both installed.
Zwift Meetup Information:
Date: 02/18/2021
Start time: 8:30 am
Note: You can join the meetup ride 15 minutes prior to the start time. Be careful not to join more than 15 minutes before the start as sometimes the app will time out and disconnect you from the ride. Also do not delay joining either as you want to leave time for the "what ifs" as we all have found from time to time. There are no late starts for Meetup rides.
Pace: Zwift’s Keep Everyone Together(link is external) feature, everyone stays together regardless of power output. You’ll be able to draft and move around in the group without fear of being dropped unless you stop pedaling.
Ride Leader: Will have the yellow beacon above the rider.
Meetup Only View: In this meetup you will only see other Zwifters attending this meetup. Everyone else in the world will be hidden.
Meetup Riders: For those who are part of the Meetup ride. We will be highlighted in green in the list of all riders on the course.
Special Instructions:
By adding (SBRA) to your account name e.g. John Smith (SBRA). It helps with the group identification.

We are either going to Manorville, Netties, Bellport or Smith Point, largely depends on the wind. Check back here for any changes which will be by 9:00am. As always newbies well taken care of and nobody gets left behind. Also bring water and a snack as route depends on wind, tide, position of moon, riders ability and ride leaders disposition. Average 11.5-12.5 pace for 20-26 miles.
No need to email me.

Join me for this C+ ride, which will average 12 - 12.5. No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Ride destination will be determined by the road conditions; decision to be made the morning of the ride; no cue sheets. We will head to the Atlantic Ave. Deli for our break and there will be a bathroom stop.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
