Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. InIf you would like to join me on this ride please text me 631 331 5642 with all the usual information.
We park opposite Outback Steak house, as close to 347 as possible.
This is a hilly and very scenic ride visiting Poquot, Strongs Neck, Old Field and West Meadow Beach where we will take a break (mile 22). There is a portapotty at the beach. The cruising speed on the flat bits will be 15 - 17mph with the uphill much slower but downhill all bets are off. For the faster riders there are opportunities to go ahead. There will be waitups, (for me), after the hills and periodic stops to admire the views!
Don't forget water, mask and snacks, there is no place to purchase anything along the route.
Join me for this C+/B- ride, which will average 13.6 - 14.0. We will be riding to East Islip, where we will take our break at the Timber Point Golf Course. Snacks and bathrooms are available. No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Due to possible weather issues, the exact route will be determined the morning of the ride (thus, no cue sheets).
Park on the south side of the train station.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
