NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

We are heading out to Nettie’s (mile 32). However, there will be other opportunity (McDs- mile 20) to stop along the way depending on how the group feels.
This is a B+ ride with an average pace between 17 to 18 mph+/-, depending on the road conditions and wind direction. The road speed will be between 18 and 21 mph.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations, which will be posted no later than 7:00 am if necessary. My cell number is 347-677-4164; call or text anytime if you have questions about the ride or need directions to the start location
Join me for this ride from Bellport to ...maybe Smith Point, maybe Bohemia (Cookie's Deli), maybe ???. Our stop will have beverages, food, and a bathroom available.
This will be a C+ ride, that will average 12.6 - 13.0.
Nettie's Country Store is an easy ride from Veterans Park. If you haven't been to Nettie's, they have a wide assortment of baked goods, a soup and roll combo, and both indoor and outdoor seating. Rest rooms are available. For info: contact Bill G. at 631-356-3036. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 07:30am.
Let's ride out to Briermere Farms past fields and pumpkins, while we wear pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We'll slow the pace this week, so other riders may join us on the ride. While this will be a paceline ride, we will control the pace, so everyone can enjoy the ride.
This will be a fun and fast 50 mile ride out of Calverton, like the ol' school Jim Drago Saturday rides. It will average somehwere between 20.5-21.5 mph depending on the size and makeup of the group. We will have a wait up at the top of Little Flower and a quick stop at the SBRA favorite Gas Station (at mile 30 or so).
It looks like the weather may be the best of the entire week. Hope to see you there!
Here is the route, please make sure to download it to your bike computer so you will know the turns:
This will be an A paced ride to the Westhampton Beach Bakery. An alternative for retirees like me, or just slackers; its more about the jelly cruller than the speed.Plan on a steady 20-22 mph for 52 miles on relatively flat roads; a bakery stop at the 30 mile mark.I hope to see you.
COME ON THIS 18-22 MILE RIDE AT A 10.6-11.6 PACE. Newbies always welcome and well taken care of. Bring water and a snack if we do not stop as direction depends on the wind direction, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition. Nobody gets left behind. Any cancellation will be by 9:00am. PARK ON SOUTH SIDE OF RR IN LOT ACROSS FROM SCHOOL.
I will lead a ride down the path while Marie sets up the picnic area. After my ride Marie will lead her ride while i get the coals ready. Of course any body that wants do both rides Anybody who wants to participate for the BBQ is encouraged to bring something to share. We have hamburgers and hot dogs and some chicken cutlets to start it off. Park in the back by the pavilion.
Parking Update: Drive to the furthest point in the main parking lot, (past the restrooms and playground) park in the last row of parking spots, look to your left, that is where we plan on setting up the area to grill and eat.
This is the plan: Depending upon the weather, Henry will be leading an earlier ride while I stay back to set up food and hold the picnic area for us to gather after our rides. We'll be grilling and chilling by a campfire, so bring a comfy chair. Since this will be a "potluck" gathering we're asking everyone bring a dish to share.
Since Henry and I will be leading two separate rides, you'll have the opportunity to do one or both (we'll switch up the route so no one gets bored).
If by some chance the weather doesn't cooperate, then we'll reschedule this to another Saturday.
As always, please check back for any changes/cancellations to this post.
