Meet at the South Street School for a howling good time out to Briermere Farms. Along the way we'll howl down Route 24, pacelining through Riverhead. Then we'll have a rest stop at Briermere, to see some pumpkins and grab goodies.
On the way back we'll ride by scary fields, with hopefully no howling winds! Then we'll finish-up riding along the scary river road.
If you see a hairy-headed gent running towards you, make sure you up your pace. (I'd like to meet his tailor). https://youtu.be/nhSc8qVMjKM
This ride will start out of the firehouse and around mile 29 we'll stop for a short break at Nettie's. This will be a tame ride... cruising speeds outside of hills and winds will be between 17 and 21mph. Go your own speed up the hill on 51 and we'll regroup at the light. Sprint on 111 if you'd like but we'll regroup before we turn onto Chapman. We'll work together to make sure no one gets dropped.
Fingers crossed that we have a nice day...this will be our ride to the docks from Belmont Lake State Park (no charge to the park after 10/14) with a barbeque when we get back. It would be greatly encouraged and appreciated if each rider brings something to share with the group. If for some reason the weather doesn't cooperate, this ride will be rescheduled to another weekend.
COME ON THIS 18-22 MILE RIDE AT A 10.6-11.6 PACE. Newbies always welcome and well taken care of.
