NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Leaving Sayville RR we will be heading to Islip. We will be riding on Montauk Highway in both direction along the Oakdale Bohemia merge. Our rest stop/bathroom break will be at the Heckscher park. Please bring your snacks and drinks for this ride. There will be no food to purchase stop on this ride. Depending on the weather and road conditions this ride may be a few miles more or less than posted.
This is a B ride with an average speed of 15.5 to 16 mph, road speeds may reach 17-19mph. Check the ride calender for any changes posted by 7:00am day of ride. Any questions call Mike at 516 448-8545
We will go the usual route heading south using the Connetquot Park bike bath. We’ll work our way down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.5 & 15.2 +/- mph, or what conditions allow. The road speed will be between 15 and 17.0 mph, or slower if needed for safety concerns.
Please DO NOT PARK in the Meat Farms parking lot. Use the west side of the bank if the east side is full. Thanks!

Time to launch from the South St. School, to head out to Mattituck for 50 miles, this time. We'll try to keep the Summer alive a little longer, before we start tapering-off the miles for winter.
We'll head east along Peconic Bay Blvd., with a stop at Mattituck at around 25 miles. The return sees us riding along Route 25, before we head through the farms and home.
Rest stop at Wildwood Park. Bring $ or a snack for a stop at the deli outside Wildwood. We will attempt to average 14.5-15.0mph with cruising speed slightly higher depending on wind and rider ability.
Join us Sunday, October 13, 2019 for the 4th annual CycleNY Long Island Ride to benefit the NY Bicycling Coalition (NYBC.net). The ride begins at the Stony Brookside Bed and Bike Inn, with 25 mile and 50 mile route options. Both routes boast scenic water views and the area's beautiful mostly lightly traveled back roads. The longer route option includes some more challenging hills.
Come on my C paced ride of 18-22 miles at 10.6-11.6mph. Newbies always welcome and nobody gets left behind. Any cancellation will be by 8:30am. Park on North side of RR at end of road. Bring water and a snack as route will be determined at ride start due to wind, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition.
Park in the lot south of Wendy's, near the RR tracks. We'll be going to Nettie's Bakery for our rest stop. Check back for any changes which would be posted by 9 am.
I am volunteering at the NYBC ride early in the morning, so I am posting this afternoon ride for those who also have morning plans.
This will be a C ride around the flat parts of Stony Brook, and then over to St. James. The ride will average 11.5 - 11.9 and we will stop for a break at St. James Bagels (food and bathroom available).
