NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

They say the "third time is a charm" so we are doing this ride again!
This will be a C+ ride from Sayville, that will include parts of Sayville, Bayport, Blue Point and Patchogue. We will have a bathroom stop at Corey Beach and then take our break at a deli in Patchogue (early breakfast special available) and then loop back around Sayville to the ride start.
This is a structured ride which will average 12.5 - 13.0.
NOTE: Park on the South Side of the train station.
There is a new boardwalk across the road from the preserve that has three different lovely paths. Total walk time is about 15 minutes, so bring a a pair of light sneakers or tongs, so you don't have to be uncomfortable in your bike shoes. If you have a bike lock, bring it, otherwise, I have 3 locks to share. There will be a bathroom stop at mile 9, another at the preserve, and a snack stop at the Westhampton Bakery. For info: contact Bill G. at 631-356-3036. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 07:15am. Strong winds could slow our pace, and possibly reduce our mileage.
Join me on a leisurely ride starting in Yaphank through Brookhaven hamlet, Bellport (with a rest/snack stop at the village dock), and East Patchogue befre returning to the ride start. Leader will maintain a 12-14 mph cruising speed. No one will be dropped. Call me at 631 846-7825 if you have any questions.
This ride is now going from Port Jefferson Station to Poquott, Strong's Neck, Old Field and West Meadow...the tradtitional "Roller Coaster" route in between it all. Note: I have reclassified the pace to B- (14-14.7).
Meet at the eastern end of the parking lot (bagel shop side vs. bank side). There used to be a clothing donation bin near Rt. 347 as a meeting marker but its gone now. So use your judgement when you arrive and I'll find you! I'll be riding from home and will be there @9:15am.

Wed 3:40pm Update: Weather is kicking up here, radar showing strong storms to move through later. Given the "fun" of getting caught out there with some rain and thunder a few weeks ago, I am moving this ride to tomorrow morning. Check back tonight for the revised details as start location, mileage and pace will change.

Sunset is at 7:20pm...so we will be leaving promptly at 5:30pm. Please plan accordingly. Parking note: Parking may be tight at the Stony Brook RR lot now. If there isn't a spot, you can park in back of Sterling National Bank, just past the Quaker Path traffic light, and meet us in the RR parking lot.
Bring lights if you have them and wear brighter clothing.

The ride classification takes into account the rolling/hill route, often finishing around 13.1-13.7. There are wait ups after climbs and places to stretch your legs ahead... but please note this is not a "race ride". Dinner afterwards for those interested.
Check ride calendar for any changes or cancellations by 4:00pm the day of ride.
We will be leaving Bank of American in East Islip heading to Great River and East Islip area. Please bring your snacks and drinks for this ride. Any questions call Mike at 516 448-8545
This is a B- ride with an average speed of 14.5 to 15mph, road speeds may reach 17-18mph. Check the ride calender for any changes posted by 2:00pm day of ride.

We will head North for 23 mile loop around the Dix Hills area. The day light hours are getting shorter so as result we will be doing shorter routes. I will suggest that everyone have at least a tail light and a head light if possible. Please pack hydration and snacks for quick stops along the route.
This is a B/B+ ride with an average pace between 16 to 17 mph+/-, depending on the road conditions and wind direction. The road speed will be between 17 and 20 mph. Total mileage may vary +/- a few miles depending on daylight and weather conditions.
