Break is at Cutchogue Deli. Roads are mostly familiar with some new thrown in, so please download the route and back me up. Option after the ride to go for a beer at The Maples with the other bikers. Should be fun!
Park on the eastern corner of the parking lot. Bring a snack as there is no real food stop. There is however 2 restroom stops along the way. I am posting this as a C+ since there could be some foot traffic along the way.
Out here in the fields, https://youtu.be/6sHoWTM-8s8?t=118 , we ride for our meals! Thunderbirds and friends, this week we'll ride to Riverhead from the southern approach, through lots of fields and rollng terrain. Along the way, we'll make a scenic detour to the fabled Land of the Dimpled Ball, with some fun rolling terrain - watch out for the speed bumps!
Since we'll be riding through a lot of open fields, get ready for some winds and working together pulling the paceline as a team. That means steady on the front and nosurges, gang; let's make an effort to keep the group together!
After our stop in Riverhead for a bagel or other food, we'll head north into the fields for our return home, eventually leading us to ride along Grumman Blvd.
Sorry, but there won't be many traffic lights on this ride, so get ready to keep pedaling!
Leaving the Oakdale RR Station we will be heading to Bellport. Our food stop will be at the Bellport Deli. Depending on the weather & route this ride may be a few miles more or less than posted.
This is a B- ride with an average speed of 14.5 to 15 mph, road speeds may reach 17-19mph. Check the ride calender for any changes posted by 7:00AM day of ride.
