Out to Manorville at a lower B/b+ pace(16-16.5 average) Please check the morning of the ride in case I change the ride to an earlier start due to heat.
Thanks to Bill Gravitz for introducing SBRA to the beautiful Grumman trail that we will be biking on our ride this morning. This fully paved trail is a mixture of flats, slight downhills, small uphills and NO CARS! We will bike at a slow 8-10 mile pace, enjoying the scenic green spaces of the Grumman acreage. After doing a 10 mile loop, we will bike approximately 2-3 miles to Bean and Bagel for our break and 2-3 miles back to our cars. Approximately two miles of this ride will be on the regular roadway.
Remember to bring your helmet, two water bottles and please get those tires at the correct pressure before you come to ride! Correct pressure is imprinted on the side of each tire.

Change – 9:30pm, Fri.It looks like Jupiter is aligned with Mars. The ride is now 39 miles. Good wind and good weather. We will be taking Dune Road to the Eastern end and over the bridge.
We did this ride last month so let’s do it again. We’ll be taking a scenic ride through Eastport, Remsenburg and Westhampton Beach. The average pace will be between 14.5 and 15.0 mph. +/- depending on the wind, road conditions, geese, ducks, squirrels, rabbits and that stray goat you see every once in a while. Road speed will be between 15 & 17 mph. There will be a short break-a-way for those who want along Dune Road. Around mile 33 we’ll stop at the Beach Bakery for some goodies and a bathroom break before heading back to the start.
My cell number is 631.484.3490; call or text anytime if you have questions about this ride, or need directions to the start. Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30am if necessary.
