C+/B- to the lighthouse in Oldfield and West Meadow Beach. Rest stop/ bathroom break at the beach
Get your hill practice served many different ways by the hills of the Three Villages. Our break is at West Meadow Beach; bring your own snack. Bathroom stop at the beach. On the non-hills, we expect to cruise at C+/B-. On the hills, each does his/her own best effort and we meet at the top — no pressure there. There are spots where faster riders can push ahead.
Before ride, contact me at (frchtchr@hotmail.com). Morning of ride, my cell is 631-835-1454. Cancellation for weather by 7:30 morning of ride.
I thought we would change it up this week go to Middle Island today. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.0 and 15.0 mph +/- depending on the roads, wind direction and other conditions. The road speed will be between 14.5 and 16.5 mph. Around mile 17 we’re going to stop at the senior citizen discount bagel shop. There are a few places along the route where those who wish can stretch their legs a bit.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30am, if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call or text anytime if you have questions about this ride or need directions to the start.

I'm taking Mike F's Taco ride this week since Mike & Lynn are out of town.
This 22 mile B- ride will average 14.5 mph with cruising speeds of 15-18 mph. We'll enjoy the quiet streets of Great River and East Islip, and will also do 2 loops in Heckscher State Park where we can stretch our legs a little.
Ride 15-19 miles at an 10.5-11.5 pace until dusk. Wear bright gear and have lights. Newbies always welcome and nobody gets left behind. Park on South side of RR in lot across the street. Daylights burning so wheels down at 6:00. Any cancellation will be by 4:30.
