NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

We are off to West Hampton Beach. We will stop at the West Hampton Beach bakery for a quick break before heading back. The average pace will be between 16.0 to 17.0 mph depending on the roads, wind direction and other conditions. The road speed will naturally be higher (18 -20 mph.).

Due to other commitments, I need to do a short, early ride today. Low C+ pace. Park in the south lot, closest to Montauk Highway. Check back for any changes which would be posted by 6:30 am. Bring a snack for our break at the Refuge.
Thunderbirds get ready for a launch off to Area 51, with a stop in Riverhead for some of those circular food products!
We'll use a new route that encompasses all of the Alien Highway heading northbound; so get ready for some winds and a rotating paceline. We'll keep the option to lap the college or raid the golf course...
My apoligizes for anyone that checked this posting earlier. Change of plans, we are starting at Veterans Memorial Park in Calverton and going to Briermere Farms. Please check the morning of the ride for any changes especially the start time.
COME ON THIS 18-22 MILE RIDE AT A 10.6-11.6 PACE. Newbies always welcome and well taken care of. Bring water and a snack if we do not stop as direction depends on the wind direction, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition. Nobody gets left behind. Any cancellation will be by 8:30am.
From Coram we will ride to Cedar Beach for a view and bathroom stop then take N. Country to the start of Bike Path that runs from PJ to SB. There are 3 climbs to and from Cedar Beach and the bike path is rolling. We will return on the bike path to head back to ride start. i guesstamated mileage to get post in and will try to check for accuracy before and change if necessary.
Bring snacks & fluids. If group requests we could hit a bagel place in Stony Brook.
