NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

The usual but fun route to Silly Lilly's. If the pups are out we say hello! Mostly flat with maybe 2 rollers if you want to call them that. A rest stop TBD the group will decide either Netty's bakery or the Deli in East Moriches. My cell 631 922-0632
We will be riding on the paved Grumman Trail, as well as loops both North and South of the trail. Our break will be at the Bean and Bagel. Porta-Potties are available at our parking area in Vet's Park. For info: contact Bill G. at 631-356-3036. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 6:45am. Park at the far left of the parking lot, away from the ball fields.
*** This is the ride that was postponed from Saturday.***
We're going to change-up the route this week! We'll roll out and head along the north route with a stop at Briermere Farms. Then, we'll roll into some changes, where we'll do a return run along the south hitting Route 24 and Grumman Blvd.
We will be leaving East Islip BOA and head to the Great River area. Then we will make our way to the Babylon Dock area. Then off to Islip Beach before returning to the bank. Our break will be in Babylon or East Islip, the group will decide.
This is a B ride with an average speed around 15.5-16 mph, road speeds may reach 16-19mph. Check the ride calender for any changes posted by 7:00am day of ride.
Start Time changed to 9am, Easy C+ Just a little tiny faster then my usual ride no one left behind cell 631-484-1650 please call before 7pm or after 7 am for questions check back day of ride if weather is questionable 2 hours before ride.
Today's’ route to Great River will change up a bit towards the end of the ride, if the wind is in our favor; making this route pretty flat except for 2 overpasses. We will go the usual route heading south using the Connetquot Park bike bath. We’ll work our way down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.5 & 15.0 +/- mph, or what conditions allow. The road speed will be between 15 and 17.0 mph, or slower if needed for safety concerns.
Please DO NOT PARK in the Meat Farms parking lot. Use the west side of the bank if the east side is full. Thanks!
We’ll be making a rest stop around mile 19 at the deli/bakery. The route back will be determined by the wind direction. Good Stuff after the Ride. Not sure what good stuff; it's always a surprise.
Any cancellations due to unforeseeable circumstances, or weather related problems will be posted by 7:30am. If you have any questions about this ride, or the start location, please call or text my cell, 631-484-3490.
Every ride should have a tag along, like a big sister with a little sister. We'll follow Bobby's ride for a while, hopefully meet at the deli, if not meet backat the start. The route is new to me, so the ride will go gingerly at the start. Basically a flat ride at a moderate pace. Any changes, no later than 8am. Questions: 631-2204508.
Come on my C paced ride of 18-22 miles at 10.6-11.6mph. Newbies always welcome and nobody gets left behind. Any cancellation will be by 8:30am. Park on North side of RR at end of road. Bring water and a snack as route will be determined at ride start due to wind, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition.
UPDATE as of 7/11: I checked out the extended path, so I can confidently post this as a 26 mile ride. I've also been contacted by a group member who stated that he does the path and boardwalk weekly and both (the path and boardwalk) are crowded on the weekends. The pace may come in at a "c" pace due to the wind I experienced as well as the anticipation for the crowded bike path and boardwalk. If you decide to do this ride, please be prepared for frequent stops and a slower pace. With that said, if you have something on your calendar for the early afternoon, you might want to think twice on doing this ride. If this is the case, please be assured that we'll post this again because it's a safe and fun ride. I truly want everyone to enjoy and not feel rushed doing this ride, the path is beautiful and absolutely worth every minute of riding.

Since there's a charge for parking in Cedar Creek Park, I'll be parking along Cedar Street...an address you can use for your GPS is 2531 Cedar Street, Seaford NY, I'll be alongside the park across the street from the condos. If you decide to go into the park, please meet us at the restrooms by the statue of the bike rider, this is the restroom before the bike path entrance.
If you haven't already been on this path, it's a really nice ride with two slight inclines. This is a shared path with families and rollerbladers, we'll maintain a C/C+ pace. We'll stop off at the concession stand, which will have a variety of items to chose from, including hot dogs, ice cream, fruit or water...please bring enough drinks to stay hydrated or money in case you decide to purchase anything on the beach. Air up your tires, put on your helmet and load up on the sun screen because it's going to be a great morning to ride!
Please post any questions you may have regarding this ride on this ride post and I'll respond as quickly as possible...thank you for reading this lengthy post! LOL!
