Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Yes 100k with no 51. I need a break from 51 and what could be better than a trip to Pleasure Drive. A few wait ups and one planned stop at MRB (36 mile mark). Please check the route before you arrive.
Sorry about the time change ... Blame the FIFA Woman's World Cup schedule!
If Jim's Desperate for Hills ride goes off this ride will be CANCELLED.
The Goat Ride ride was basically created by Jack Steffens, a great ride leader and hill (and dog) trainer who passed too soon. This ride has a B/B+ rating due to the effort but will probably end up at B/B- pace. We "only" climb ~1880 feet with this ride ;-).
I'm starting this ride at the Lakes club house and if you bring a bathing suit (or use your riding gear as I do) and towel, you can join me after the ride for a refreshing dip as my guest.
Check back to this posting Saturday evening AND Sunday morning as the ride might be CANCELLED.
Always check the posting before leaving for the ride as Life Happens and Things Change.
Sorry have to cancel again recovering from a back issue. I'm planning on posting again for next weekend. With only a few weeks before the FANY RIDE this weekend will be my final push for hill training. The plan over two days (Friday and Sunday) is to ride all the Gold Coast “Hills of Long Island” plus some more hills. You can find a description of some of the hills on SBRA website under “Hills of Long Island”. We will ride up most hills turn around and come back down before moving on to the next hill. Feel free to pass on any hill you wish or simply ride up to your desire and we will meet up at the bottom. Ride up at your own pace and down at your own comfort level. I rate these rides as a B+ with no regard to average MPH but based on difficulty.
Please bring snacks and drinks with you we will take breaks as needed.
This is a scenic ride, with multiple water views, as well as views of numerous vineyards and farms. We will be making short stops to take advantage of the beauty L.I. offers us. There are bathroom stops along the way, both real and porta potties. We will have a coffee break at a deli in Cutchogue, and an actual lunch break at Braun's sea food, a self-serve restaurant with shaded, outdoor seating. Braun's has excellent seafood and non-seafood wraps. Not hungry, just get a bowl of chowder, or go over to scoops and grinds for great ice cream. Nassau Point will not be included in this ride. For info: contact Bill G, at 631-356-3036. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which will be posted by 06:45am. This is a long ride, so plan your day accordingly. Note: if you pull in to the church on the corner, you are in the wrong spot. Drive further up to the Senior Center.
Bring snacks for a rest stop at the beach. We will try to average 14.0-14.5 mph with a cruising speed slightly higher. Please note that the new location of the Blue Point Brewery is 225 W Main Street in Patchogue next to the Patchogue Family YMCA. Please park in the Blue Point Brewery lot as there may be an after ride tasting or two
This will be a C+ ride from Sayville to either Bellport or Ronkonkoma - direction will depend on the prevailing winds, etc. There will be a break & bathroom stop wherever we go.
This is a structured ride which will average 12.5 - 12.9.
NOTE: Park on the South Side of the train station.
SATURDAY UPDATE: Depending on when the weather clears-out, we may start a few minutes late! It looks like we'll head to Goldberg's Bagels, as Pete has a gift certificate that needs spending! :) Check tomorrow for updates!
A run out to Briermere, hopefully avoiding the predicted rains for the weekend! (Saturday is more likely the rain day).
Distance can be changed, depending on how well the group plays together, and of course the weather... And as an option, we could instead go to Goldberg's Bagels in Riverhead for a 31 mile ride. (Pete keep that coupon handy!).
Today's’ route will be similar to the Great River route with some added mileage, and a few changes. The changes will bring us through Islip Terrace or East Islip; it will all depend on the wind. The route is pretty flat except for an overpass, here and there.
We will go the usual route, heading south, using the Connetquot Park bike path. We’ll work our way through the Islip’s then down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.5 & 15.0 +/- mph, or what conditions allow. The road speed will be between 15 and 17.0 mph, or slower if needed for safety concerns.
We’ll be making a bathroom break around mile 21. The rest stop around mile 27 will be the deli/bakery. The route back will be determined by the wind direction. Good Stuff after the Ride. Not sure what good stuff; it's always a surprise.
DO NOT PARK IN THE MEAT FARMS PARKING LOT. Use the West side of the bank parking lot if the East side is full. Thank you.
Any cancellations due to unforeseeable circumstances, or weather related problems will be posted by 7:30am. If you have any questions about this ride, or the start location, please call or text my cell, 631-484-3490.
COME ON THIS 18-22 MILE RIDE AT A 10.6-11.6 PACE. Newbies always welcome and well taken care of. Bring water and a snack if we do not stop as direction depends on the wind direction, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition. Nobody gets left behind. Any cancellation will be by 8:30am.
Easy C+ Just a little tiny faster then my usual ride no one left behind cell 631-484-1650 please call before 7pm or after 7 am for questions check back day of ride if weather is questionable 2 hours before ride.
Park in the lot south of Wendy's. Right now I am planning to do the rollers on Mill Road (Done at your own pace), short stop at the end of Mill (bring drink and a snack-no formal food stop) then return (not on Mill). As always, check back for any changes which would be posted by 9 am.
